We left Saturday morning for Margaritaville in the Mohegan Sun Casino in Connecticut. What a wonderful surprise it was. He remembered I liked it on our honeymoon (he stopped to play poker and I went for a drink by myself, we're so romantic).
We had a room on the 29th floor and this was our view. The pool was really nice as well... we went for a swim between dinner and dessert. My napkin waiting for that frozen concoction of yummy goodness... I ended up having a total of 4 over the weekend (booze in the blender counts as 2).
Luke had the Gumbo dinner. He said it was really good and very filling. Of course he also had some tortilla soup before dinner.
My cheeseburger in paradise with french fried potatoes. Also delicious and about the only thing on the menu I'd eat since I am kind of fussy with spices and there is lots of "spices" for their foods.
What the place looks like inside. It's a little blurry but I didn't want my flash on. There is a seaplane in the back and the blob in the top right is a hurricane/storm cloud that will start to spin quick and out drops a big margarita bottle that fills the giant blender on the floor under it.
For dinner we sat upstairs and asked if we could come back with my birthday dessert coupon and they said yes. So we left and went for a dip in the pool. I aqua jogged and Luke just hung out. When we went back they seated us upstairs again so we ate our dessert their and I had another margarita. We asked if we could sit downstairs and have another drink (the atmosphere is way better downstairs).
We got to sit in the back of the boat. They have 3 fishing boats set up with tables/counters for dining in. We were right next to the hostess table so we got to see all the crazy people walking in and out. Lots of bachelorette parties stopping in or by. Why do people think, "casino, let me wear something skin tight and let it all hang out with a pair of heels I cannot walk in." I rocked my crocs with capris and a t-shirt.
My final drink of the night, a fins up. And here is my handsome Manfriend from the hotel lobby overlooking the casino area before we left. He won $2 at poker and treated me to a Krispy Kreme donut for breakfast. I am so lucky to have him in my life. Thanks for a great weekend Manfriend and I am sure we are going to have a fun time just chilling this week with your time off for the 4th of July.
What a great surprise. I think I need to go there! Everything looks yummy!
