Running out of April

Well,  April was pretty uneventful for us.  The weather has been quite chilly still and we are very much hoping for nice weather on a more permanent basis (not just like one day a month of temps over 50).  We've got some more yard work to do and I don't need my fingers frozen from wearing gloves.
Last weekend in April and we had our Flower City Challenge event--Luke for the 5k and me in the half marathon.  We should be dressed a little less but it was about low 40's the entire time so I am glad I had my early spring weight gear on.
I met up with some gals from the Mom's Run This Town group that I joined earlier this month.  They are so nice and supportive of everything.  It is also for mom's of fur babies too if you are wondering.
Luke finished in just under an hour for his 5k and I finished my half marathon in 1:45 and change.  I got warm but never hot during the race.
As a result of my un-planned awesome race (yeah, I will go with awesome to describe it) I had to go back and make a few tweaks to my training plans pace wise for my upcoming events.  Luke took a long-ish nap but then made me some dippin' eggs for dinner.  Looking forward to how I will respond to increasing the intensity of my running since I really didn't go out of my comfort zone for this race.

not much going on

Lack of blogging lately and that's because there isn't a whole lot going on.  I mean, we had a lot of snow on March 30/31, which just put me in a mood since I am very much over this winter.  Currently we are having a gorgeous weekend but are going to get back into the 30's temperature wise after almost 70's the past few days.
A few weeks ago we majorly cleaned out and organized the office.  We got rid of Luke's desk and are going to share a desk.  His desktop computer wasn't working so he just basically needed a flat surface to work from when he does work from home.  The file cabinet used to be next to my desk and his desk was against the wall where the file cabinet is.  Not quite sure how I wanted the desk to sit in the room I e-mailed my sister a few photos of possible options.
She told me to go with the desk sticking out from the wall since it is a fairly large room and it helps break up the space, plus Nate Berkus who had been on Oprah a few times doesn't like furniture against the walls.  I guess if it's good enough for Oprah it's good enough for me.
In my major clean stuff mood I went to town and cleaned the oven.  I was amazed at what a difference just some vinegar and water made with a little bit of baking soda for scrubbing power.
I had the help of my little Cuddle Bug with making a photo book of our cruise and Disney trip from December.  She helps me almost every time I am working on a project, even if I don't need the help.
