Luke's Contraption

With Luke's pinched nerve he has a difficult time sitting or standing for a long period of time, but standing to get his work done is the lesser of two evils.  Working from home he decided to plop his laptop on top of our toaster oven so he could stand.
He could just pick up his laptop and move to the kitchen table behind him to sit for a little bit if he had to.  Slowly but surely he is getting better.  It is taking what seems like forever but he is on the mend.  We were able to walk around the "short" loop in our neighborhood with only a few stops instead of barely making it to the mailbox.

Not much happening...

Not much has been going on here.  Luke is still in lots of pain with his pinched nerve.  This past weekend it snowed outside (ick).  This is what I deal with every time I sit down at my laptop/computer.  And I mean every time.
We have to roll around in front of me or strut our stuff across the key board to seek attention.  We also purr non-stop and get feisty when moved.
If she is "shoo-ed" away enough she will sit in front of me and nudge me with her face and rub her face all over mine.  She's definitely a little cuddle bug.

Big Splurge

This little beauty that I had in college decided to eat Hercules.  Herc is stuck in the vcr and the tv turns off after about 5 seconds of being turned on as a result.  Apparently the tv also thinks there is no tape in the vcr.
Luke suggested to take the bag of clothes from cleaning out the closet to Goodwill and see what they had in the tv department for our guest room since ours is "broken."  We picked up this one since it is a brand name, had a remote and book with it.
But it gets better.  At the register we find out yellow tags are 50% off... so for $10.97 we have a new tv.  It may not be the latest and greatest but it works and is just fine for our house.

Home Organization

Having spent the week home so that I could take care of Luke I continued with organizing things around the house.  I organized the file cabinet in our office.  All of our manuals for appliances and gadgets were in a file folder.  I put them in a binder so that it would be easier to find them.
Easier to find because I put each manual in a plastic sheet protector in the binder.
Having organized my clothes I decided to tackle Luke's part of the closet.  It is pretty organized from the last time I sorted through his clothes for donations about 2 years ago.  Probably also helps that I put away his clothes after doing the laundry.
I took a hanging sweater thing and put it sideways on the shelf.  I have done this on my side of the closet with my sweaters and it helps with keeping things organized and from piles overlapping and chaos.
Here is the after... his jeans sorted by size and use.  His "work" pants for tackling yard projects or messy indoor projects are in the back corner.  Jeans he wears most often are in the front near his Bill's shirt (that was scrunched in the sweater divider with a bunch of random t-shirts.
Those random t-shirts are now folded in the drawers that you see peaking out in the back corner.  This is also where I have put his summer shorts.  The organization and cleaning out continues!  We have another bag of clothes to donate (5th bag so far this year).

shower invites

Last weekend I dropped Jen's Baby Shower invites in the mail.  Since I was home taking care of Luke I also worked on a lot more decoration items for her shower.  It's a nautical theme and I have been having fun crafting all sorts of things and gathering items to borrow from the cottage for decorating.
I finally decided on the food to serve for the brunch and created fun (punny) names for all the food, with the help of my Papa Bear for a few of them I was stuck on.  Here is the invite...
Look for red, white and blue decorations!

Hoppy Easter... Delayed :)

Luke is getting better a little each day.  It is his sciatic nerve.  Anyways, here is what the Easter Bunny brought to our house.  I found my basket hiding behind the couch... bunny was nice to me this year making it easy so I didn't cry when I couldn't find it after hours of hunting.
Nerd jelly beans, Cadbury Cream Eggs, a new sports bra and a neon green/yellow long sleeve shirt plus 2 cameras that are like my old one that I loved.  The bunny brought Luke his favorite Reese's peanut butter cups and Reese's pieces eggs and a new razor.
