Cruisin' Vacation

Luke has wanted to go on a cruise for as long as I can remember and we got our passports over the summer.  We finally decided on a Caribbean Cruise for the first week of December.  Since the weather can be a little unpredictable with flights delayed and such we flew out on Friday and spent the night at the Hyatt in the Orlando airport for our cruise departure on Saturday.
We waited in line for our Carnival Dream Cruise.  It was sprinkling outside and warm.  A girl came around handing out bottled water and it was very nice.  We were able to "check our bags" onto the ship and they arrived at our room later that day while we went through the security in the building before boarding.  Overall it went pretty smoothly.
When we finally were called to board we went straight to our room to check it out.  We splurged and went for the balcony room.  It was nice to go outside in the mornings or evenings when we were arriving/departing ports.  We also just sat out there to read or nap (that happened a few times).
The room was a decent size and our bathroom was alright.  It was a bit small but manageable.  The toilet reminded me of airplane toilets because of the noise it made when it flushed.
After a brief check of our room we headed outside to enjoy the weather and I was in love with the ship docked next to us (The Disney Fantasy).
Do you see why I was so in love with the ship?  Not only was it Disney but it was Dumbo!  How adorable and this made me super excited for our mini-jaunt to Disney that would happen after the cruise (Disney decorated for Christmas--yes please!)
We left Port Canaveral and things looked like they would be smooth.  I was very wrong.  Even people that had cruised before said they'd never felt the boat rock the way it was that night.
I thought it was a wave pool on the Lido deck.  Nope, it was just the boat rocking that much that the pool had serious waves.  Later that night they had a net over the pool to keep people out (probably cause it was "waving" so much.
We decided to have a drink before going to dinner.  When we went to dinner I had about 3 bites of my appetizer (soup) and had to leave.  I felt so sick from the rocking of the boat.  I went to lay down (which is also apparently the worst thing that you can do).  My nauseousness lasted for 3 days before I finally started to feel better.
The upper decks made the rocking motion of the ship more noticeable.  So far it was turning into an adventure and I wasn't sure if I'd be able to survive a whole week.  We met an older couple that was shocked our first cruise was going to be a week instead of just 3 or 4 days (apparently a week is a long time for first timers).  What were we thinking?
Each night after dinner we would come back to a towel creature in our room with the FunTimes (a list of events happening the next day on the ship).  We also had our excursion passes if we had selected something to do at the port.
